Oophaga pumilio "Drago Colon"

Line: SR 2010

Unknown filial generation.

Oophaga pumilio "Drago Colon" have a green body and cheetah-print legs. They are quite a bold thumbnail frog with a loud call. Mature females and males are similar in length, measuring in around 5/8 - 7/8".

These frogs should only be housed in groups as juveniles to sub adults. As they reach adults, males should be separated as males tend to be male to male aggressive. It is possible to house multiple females with one male in the right enclosure. In the wild, males often have control of 1 to 5 square meters of territory. A minimum of a 10 gallon vertical or equivalent size tank per pair is workable, but we highly recommend 18x18x24 as a tank size. This makes the frogs happy.

Natural location: Central America, originally from the island of Isla Colon, in the Bocas del Toro region.
